Every Mother Counts in Guatemala

Published on National Geographic Short Film Showcase

Guatemala is one of the most dangerous areas in Central America to give birth, and experienced midwives play an important role in helping women stay safe during childbirth. “Con Madre”, which features some of the actors of a growing midwifery movement, was published by National Geographic today. I felt privileged to be the director of photography on this project and to work with such a wonderful team. I am especially grateful to everyone who trusted us and allowed us to document their lives.

For Every Mother Counts - With Executive Producer Christy Turlington Burns, Director Clancy McCarty, Editor Filip Lein and Sound Myriam Valdez.

With Asociación Corazón del Agua, Elsa Gabriel, ACAM,  Maya Midwifery International
