Marisol and The American Dream featured in French photography magazine 6Mois

The French photo magazine 6Mois was launched in 2011 with the premise to showcase in-depth photo projects that approach topics in the news from unique and alternative angles. The magazine, which contains no advertising, supports itself entirely through a print run of around 40,000 copies and features a dozen photographers in each issue, publishing their stories over 20 -30 pages. I admire the pluck of editor Marie-Pierre Subtil and her team. They trusted their judgment that there would be demand in France for this type of magazine, and they were proven right. I hope their strong vision will inspire more publications to support the narrative photo essay in today's challenging editorial landscape.
